Overview of Colchester School System

Amy Minor was appointed Superintendent of Colchester Schools in July of 2016. During her 18-year career leading up to this new appointment, she served the Colchester School District in many capacities. Among those included science teacher and Colchester High School principal. Amy earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Buffalo, a teaching degree from St. Bonaventure University, and her master’s degree in school administration from Saint Michael’s College.

Among her accomplishments, Amy was named Vermont Principal of the Year in 2013. During her time at CHS, she championed the renovation of the science laboratories and the transformation of the CHS theater into a state of the art Performing Arts Center.

Amy believes that in order to achieve academic excellence for all students, our schools must have strong climates that provide rigorous and relevant academic experiences which are rooted in respect, relationships, responsibility, equity, and pride. As Superintendent, she’s working to expand that focus to foster a stronger relationship within the district and the community.
