Again this year we're providing food baskets for the neediest families in the Colchester area. We join us on Saturday, Dec. 5th for sorting and building the food baskets and on Saturday, Dec. 12th for the delivery of the Food baskets. Please donate any non-perishable food items or money to support this project. See more photos at: photos
HOLIDAY FOOD BASKET PROJECT Last year over 400 children and adults benefited from the Holiday Food Basket Project. We greatly appreciate the support and generosity of individuals, businesses, faith communities and volunteer groups that contributed to the project. Again this year, the Colchester-Milton Rotary Club is assembling baskets of food and other small gift items for the less fortunate in our community during this holiday season.
A GREAT NEED IN 2009 As the Project enters its 36th year we find during these difficult economic times an increasing local need. We anticipate an even greater demand for Holiday Food Baskets than last year, when baskets were provided to over 100 families serving 420 family members in Colchester. Through your past donations we've been able to support those families with a weeks food supply to create a nourishing and healthful holiday season.
HELP OUR NEIGHBORS IN COLCHESTER If there is a way you could help again to bring some joy and relief to this especially vulnerable group in our community it would be greatly appreciated. Seeing a smile on a child's face really makes the holiday season worthwhile; just ask any of our volunteer delivery people.
YOUR CONTRIBUTION IS NECESSARY To make a monetary donation, please use the supplied envelope and reply card, add a stamp and mail to the Holiday Food Basket Project, c/o Colchester-Milton Rotary Club, P.O. Box 82, Colchester, VT 05446.
We also gladly accept all major credit cards for donations, thanks to a generous gift from Chittenden Bank. All donations are tax-deductible through our 501(c)3 charitable fund of the Rotary Club and after the delivery you'll receive a donation receipt for tax purposes.
OTHER WAYS TO CONTRIBUTE If you wish to make a contribution other than monetary, we gratefully accept non-perishable foods, gift certificates, small toys or games, food certificates, gift items, books, etc. and especially, gifts for small children. For more information regarding these donations please contact Michael at 343-5453 or Kirk at 238-8187. Please contact us before November 30th to arrange for pickup.
YOUR ASSISTANCE IS WELCOME We will be assembling the Holiday Food Baskets the morning of December 5th and all are invited to assist in this process. Please contact Michael at 343-5453 for further information. Many hands make fast work and adds to the fun of this holiday event. We assemble the baskets at Dick Mazza's building next to Mazza's Store in Malletts Bay.
LOCALS DELIVER THE BASKETS We, with the able assistance of Colchester Center, Malletts Bay and St. Michael's Fire Departments, will be delivering the Holiday Food Baskets the morning of December 12th to the families in need this year.
