On July 13th, 2020 the Rotary Club of Colchester-Milton presented the Milton Family Community Center (MFCC) with a check for $3,024.00 from the Club’s Fill The Truck For The Food Shelf campaign. Club member John Abry presented the check to Vikki Patterson the executive director of MFCC.
Vikki stated “ On behalf of everyone at MFCC, I would like to express our sincerest gratitude to the Colchester-Milton Rotary Club for their successful virtual Fill-A-Truck food drive that resulted in such a generous donation to our MFCC Food Shelf in Milton.  It is people and organizations such as yours, that continue to remind me of how great it is to live in this community.  This event represents the true heart of our communities, where neighbors help neighbors, and when times get tough, people in our communities are willing to go above and beyond to find creative ways to help each other out.   Unquestionably, we are all in the midst of some very challenging times, and the need for food support is higher than ever.  I wasn't sure what to expect from a virtual food drive event, and I must confess that when MFCC was presented with the check from the Rotary of the portion of the proceeds dedicated for the Milton Food Shelf, I was so delightfully surprised.  The success of this event has far exceeded my expectations.  Though, truthfully, I shouldn't have been surprised, because I know without a doubt, that the members of the Colchester-Milton Rotary are the most thoughtful, caring and creative group of people who are truly dedicated to their mission.  Thank you to all of you for doing what you do to help organizations such as MFCC in our shared efforts to help strengthen our communities and provide support to those who are struggling.

This is the 3rd year the Colchester-Milton Rotary Club has held the “Fill The Truck” event collecting food and cash donations for the Colchester, Milton and Grand Isle food shelves. Due to the Covid 19 pandemic this year’s event was ‘virtual’ with all donations submitted online and by far the most collected totaling over $9,2,00.00

The Colchester-Milton Rotary Club would like to publicly thank all who donated. Club member John Abry stated “We are truly amazed by the outpouring of support from our community during these challenging times and impressed with the level of generosity of those who donated.”
