Our Rotary Club welcomed District Governor, Ariel Mondlak for a meaningful visit that combined fellowship, inspiration, and hands-on service. During the meeting, members learned about a conservation project
focused on helping monarch butterflies by creating seed balls filled with milkweed and other pollinator-friendly seeds.
Monarch butterflies make one of nature’s most remarkable journeys, traveling between Mexico, the United States, and Canada. Milkweed is especially important because it is the only plant monarch caterpillars can eat, and planting more of it helps provide the habitat monarchs need along
their migration route.
At the meeting, club members worked together to make seed balls that can be planted in the community to support monarchs and other pollinators. The project was a simple but powerful reminder that local service can contribute to a much larger conservation effort—helping create stepping- stone habitats for monarch butterflies as they travel north and south across the continent.
